The Slayer : Moveset is a Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 that turns you into an ancient mage.
Press R and a sigil blooms beneath you, a column of light erupts and a staff appears in your hands. From there you float with a slow, breathing bob, hold Sprint to fly wherever you look, and cast four spells that carve real craters, tunnels and molten pits into the world.
Every magic circle, lightning bolt and fire flipbook was rendered in Blender, every animation was keyframed by hand, and every sound was synthesized from scratch. The scripts that made them are all in the repository.

The spellbook
Four spells, all cast with the staff and aimed where you look. Pick one from the hotbar, or press its key.
Zoltraak
Zoltraak Z
Two wide arcs of 24 white-violet magic circles open behind you and fire a barrage of piercing beams that track your aim.
A layered, three-ring sigil then drinks in mana before the staff and releases a colossal beam, with shock rings racing down its length. Every beam bores a tunnel through terrain and detonates on impact.

Judradjim V
A storm vortex and a giant violet sigil open 58 blocks above the target. About 48 lightning bolts rain across a 36-block radius, cratering everything.
Then seven bolts converge into one annihilating strike, crowned by a pillar of light.

Vollzanbel B
A crimson sigil burns into the ground while embers pour out and the air ripples.
Hellfire erupts in a towering column of Mantaflow-simulated fire, blasting a 20-block molten crater under a pillar of black smoke, followed by secondary eruptions around the rim.

Black Hole N
Born as a speck at the crystal of your staff, it drifts up into the sky and swells into a singularity with a blazing accretion disk, a glowing photon ring and real gravitational lensing.
It tears up the land, swallows mobs and items, and finally collapses into a cataclysmic blast.

Advancements unlocked
Everything else the Slayer can do.
Weightless
Double-tap Jump to float: slow, breathing drift with the staff held across your body. You hover above the ground instead of scraping it.
Faster Than Sound
Sprint + Forward for full flight up to 72 blocks/s. Break the threshold for an FOV surge, sonic boom, vapor cone, speed lines and rushing wind.
Soft Landing
No fall damage while transformed. Your form is saved and survives relogs and death.
Director's Cut
The camera pulls back over your shoulder while you cast and banks into turns while you fly.
Made in Blender
Magic circles, lightning, the staff, every animation and the Mantaflow fire and smoke all come from Blender.
Shader Friendly
Works with Iris shader packs. Effects are drawn over the pack's finished image, so they never get dimmed or fogged away.
Your World, Your Rules
Toggle terrain destruction, scale blast size, set a destruction budget, choose block drops and PvP damage.
No Lag Spikes
Craters are carved a slice per tick and spells never force unloaded chunks to load.
Synthesized
Every sound, from the sonic boom to the black hole's drone, was synthesized from scratch.

Needs Java 21 (the default for Minecraft 1.21.1). Works with Sodium and Iris.
Nothing hidden
You shouldn't have to take anyone's word that a mod is safe. Everything about this one is out in the open, and you can check all of it yourself.
Open source
The full source for every file in the jar is in the repository: the Java code, the shaders, the Blender scripts that render the textures and the Python scripts that synthesize the sounds.
Building this source with ./gradlew build produces a byte-for-byte identical jar: same SHA-256 as the download. GitHub rebuilds every release on its own servers and compares the hash in public.
From a read-through of the 1.1.0 source. Check it yourself: it's all in src/.
No internet access. The mod never opens a web connection. Its only networking is Minecraft's own client-to-server packets that sync spells and flight in multiplayer.
No telemetry, analytics or tracking of any kind.
Doesn't download or run anything. No external programs, no code loaded at runtime.
Writes one file:config/theslayer.json, your settings.
No bundled libraries. The jar holds only the mod's own code and assets.
Its only use of reflection is checking whether Iris is installed, so effects can adapt to shader packs.
Inside the jar
All 201 files in the-slayer-1.1.0+1.21.1.jar, sorted into slots. Hover or tap one.
Windows prints the hash in capitals; the letters are the same. You can also upload the jar to VirusTotal for a second opinion.

1.1.0 latest
Shader-pack update, bug fixes and quality-of-life improvements.
Shader packs
Spell effects are now fully visible and bright with Iris shader packs (tested with Bliss and MakeUp)
Effects are drawn on top of the shader pack's finished image, still hidden correctly behind terrain, so packs can no longer relight, fog, dim or hide them
Spell bloom and black hole lensing now also work with shader packs
The staff's crystal halo stays visible with shader packs
New setting: Effects Over Shader Packs (on by default). Turn it off to let the pack render the effects itself
Added
/slayer form <true/false> [players]: transform or revert players
/slayer reload: reload the config file without restarting
Commands require operator permission
Changed
New default spell keys: Z (Zoltraak), V (Judradjim), B (Vollzanbel), N (Black Hole)
Spell keys were re-registered, so everyone gets the new conflict-free defaults (still rebindable under Controls)
The spell HUD shows whichever keys you bind
Fixes & polish
Fixed spell effects being invisible or very dim with deferred shader packs (such as Bliss, Photon and Eclipse)
Fixed Judradjim and Vollzanbel key conflicts with vanilla's Creative toolbar shortcuts (X and C)
Fixed fire looking washed out or white with some shader packs
Removed the extra dimming of effects that was applied with shader packs in 1.0.1
1.0.1
First full release.
Spells
Zoltraak: two wide arcs of 24 magic circles open behind you and fire a barrage of piercing beams that track your aim, then a three-layer colossal sigil charges up before the staff and releases a giant beam with shock rings racing down its length; every beam bores a tunnel and detonates on impact
Judradjim: a storm vortex and a giant sigil open high above the target, 48 lightning bolts rain across a 36-block radius, then converging bolts fuse into one final strike with a pillar of light
Vollzanbel: a crimson sigil burns into the ground as embers rise and the air ripples, then a towering column of hellfire erupts, carving a molten crater under a pillar of black smoke, with secondary eruptions around the rim
Black Hole: born as a speck at the staff's crystal, it rises into the sky and swells into a singularity with a blazing accretion disk, a glowing photon ring and real gravitational lensing; it tears up the land, swallows mobs and items, then collapses into a cataclysmic blast
Transformation & flight
Press R to transform: a Blender-rendered sigil blooms beneath you and a column of light erupts
The staff appears in hand, fully animated in first and third person
Floating passive: weightless drifting with a slow breathing bob, staff held in both hands diagonally across the body
Full flight: very fast flight that follows the camera (72 blocks/s by default)
Passing the speed threshold triggers a spring-driven FOV surge, a sonic boom (shock rings + vapor cone), screen shake, anime speed lines, wind streaks and rushing wind audio
Camera banks through turns
No fall damage while transformed
Transformation state is saved and survives relogs and death

Changes & additions
Re-simulated fire and smoke: bigger, fully saturated flames with no clipped edges
Redesigned black hole accretion disk and added a photon ring
Bigger, more massive spells across the board (wider Zoltraak formation, larger tunnels and blasts, thicker lightning, taller hellfire, larger black hole)
Added a charge-up and layered sigil to Zoltraak's colossal beam
Added a light pillar to Judradjim's final strike
Added a shockwave, implosion flash and dust ring to the black hole collapse
Added the over-the-shoulder cinematic camera
Added the spell bloom pass with a toggle and strength setting
New two-handed floating staff pose
Shader-pack mode: the mod's own bloom and lensing switch off, flashes and storm tint fall back to a screen overlay, and glowing effects are toned down so packs don't wash them out
